NCAA Basketball Recruiting: 5 biggest standouts from 2020 Hoophall Classic
Miami commit Earl Timberlake Jr. showed out during his performance at Hoophall.
Earl Timberlake Jr., the No. 30 prospect by ESPN for this year’s senior class, looks physically ready for the NBA right now. The six-foot, six-inch, 215 pound senior has a strong, muscular frame and can physically dominate and push around a lot of other players on the court.
Timberlake, a member of the Dematha team and Miami commit, tallied up 24 points, 12 boards, and three assists in a victory for his squad during the first game at the tournament. Timberlake played well above the rim, throwing down a number of strong, high-flying dunks that drew “ohs and ahhs” from the crowd.
With his frame and mobility, Timberlake looks like he can be a contributor right away at the next level on the defensive side of the floor. He is disruptive and should wreak havoc on the ball and getting into passing lanes.
What was even better about his Hoophall performance was Timberlake showed on offense he can help out. He will be dynamic in transition and as his feel and shooting stroke continue to progress, Timberlake can offer a lot of value as a player.
As mentioned, there was a load of talent at Hoophall, but these five really found a way to shine above the rest of their competition. Fans of the programs they are headed too should be excited to see what the future holds.
