No. 9 Chicago Bulls – Obi Toppin, 6’9″ 220lbs, SF/PF, Dayton

The Bulls add another sweet-shooting big man who can play above the rim and give them some much-needed wing help in Toppin.

If the Bulls do in fact pick up Obi Toppin, the United Center may want to invest in some extra rims for next season between Toppin and Zach Lavine sharing the court with one another. In all seriousness, the Bulls would benefit from adding a player with Toppin’s talents to their roster.

At first glance, Toppin’s skillset may appear redundant with Lauri Markkanen, but Toppin is a far better athlete and he likely is going to end up offering a more varied skill set on offense and a bigger presence on defense.

The Bulls can fit Toppin into their roster in a few different ways. They could go with an extra big, jumbo-sized lineup and slide him in as a pseudo small forward, or they could bring him off the bench to inject some life into games when the starters sit down.

Either way, it never hurts to add a six-nine forward who has a promising shooting stroke, good mobility, and is always looking to punish defenders either physically or by playing above the rim as a dunker.
