Baylor remains firmly on my No. 1 seed line this week and that shouldn’t come as a surprise. Although the Bears might not have looked particularly impressive in their victories over Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, wins are wins. Baylor holds a 16-1 overall record that includes five early wins in Q1A. This team’s level of high-quality victories is unmatched across the nation as this squad has earned the top overall spot in my bracket through the first two and a half months of the season.

It is also important to mention that one of Baylor’s victims early in the season, Villanova, has also picked up its game as of late. The Wildcats might not rank extremely well in efficiency metrics but they are 15-3 (5-1 BE) on the season and have moved onto the No. 3 line. They are a very young squad but are well-coached and can absolutely fill it up from 3-point range. Villanova should only continue to improve as a team worth monitoring as a potential title contender in two months.

Wisconsin is also worth discussing from this region. The Badgers started this season quite slowly but have picked up their play in the vaunted Big Ten to rise up the seed lines. I’m not sure their ceiling is much higher than where they are now, but Wisconsin has earned a No. 6 seed to this point in the year. Micah Potter and Kobe King are evolving into big-time performers for this squad.
