San Diego State Basketball continues to dominate the Mountain West conference and now they have a chance to build an even bigger lead at the top of the conference standings against UNLV.

San Diego State Basketball’s win on Tuesday was their 20th in a row to start the season and it moved them to 9-0 in Mountain West play. They finally moved into the top-4 spot they deserve this week and many bracketologists have moved them onto the top seed line this week. To keep their undefeated record, new lofty ranking, and dominant standing in the league they’ll need to travel to Vegas on Sunday and take out the surprise team of the Mountain West season, the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels.

After a disappointing start to the season, UNLV has worked its way up to 2nd place in the Mountain West standings. However, they stumbled in their most recent game in a road loss against in-state rival, Nevada. That loss was their second of the Mountain West season and likely made this a must-win game if they hope to catch SDSU in the conference standings. Even in the friendly confines of the Thomas & Mack Center, this will be the toughest test yet for the Runnin’ Rebels, but if they pass this test it will go a long way toward them securing a first-round bye in the conference tournament.

On Sunday afternoon in Vegas, we’ll get to see the Mountain West’s top two teams clash with the nation’s only undefeated record on the line. Here are 3 keys for SDSU to win this must-see battle.
