Syracuse Orange – 13-7 (6-3 in ACC)

We know that the ACC will be sending at least three teams to the NCAA Tournament (Duke, Florida State, and Louisville) but who No. 4, 5, and maybe 6 are is completely up in the air if the league even gets that many. As far as the ACC is concerned, most of the teams made little progress and took losses. Virginia Tech suffered a bad loss to UNC (ironic), Notre Dame couldn’t beat Florida State, Virginia lost to NC State, who then lost to Georgia Tech on Saturday. And both Miami and Pittsburgh have eliminated themselves from bubble talk altogether.

As for the Orange, they were the one “bubble” team that won both of their games this week. I say “bubble” because even with the five-game winning streak, this team still hasn’t cracked the top-60 in the NET rankings, with just wins against Virginia and Virginia Tech that are Quad-1 worthy.

Still, beggars can’t be choosers for this week, with Syracuse getting wins over rivals Notre Dame and Pittsburgh. Those aren’t necessarily going to tip the scales but the Orange have brought themselves back into legitimate at-large conversations. They have a real opportunity to make noise this upcoming week, with a home matchup against Duke on Saturday. If Syracuse’s offense continues to thrive as it has since the start of ACC play, they have a real shot at knocking off the Blue Devils.
