San Diego State Basketball cruised to their 22nd consecutive win on Wednesday, but they’ll have a much tougher task on Saturday.

The win on Wednesday saw San Diego State Basketbakk end a 3-game losing streak at The Pit as they trounced the New Mexico Lobos by a score of 85-57. There are now 4 games between them and everybody else in the Mountain West and the Aztecs seem to have already locked up the regular-season conference title. They are left needing just seven more wins to finish conference play unbeaten and their next matchup just might be the best chance left for somebody to end their run.

That matchup will see them take on Utah State, who they have already gone on the road and beaten this season. That 9-point loss came in the midst of a stretch where the Aggies lost 4 of 5 and seemed to be on their way to a really disappointing finish to the season. However, they have turned things around recently, winning three in a row, including an impressively dominating Colorado State last weekend. Those wins put them in back into a tie for 3rd in the conference and have them losing a lot more likely to avoid having to play a first-round game in the conference tournament.

This game should produce plenty of excitement on Saturday night on CBSSN. This will pit the two teams who opened the season as the favorites to win this conference against each other in front of a packed Viejas Arena crowd. This won’t be one you want to miss as SDSU tries to defend their home court and their undefeated record.
