1. Baylor Bears

Record: 19-1, 8-0 Conference

The top team in the country, the Baylor Bears are the unanimous top team in the Big 12 through one month of play.

Led by star sophomore Jared Butler, the Bears have been excellent this season, with an early loss to Washington being the only blemish. A big win on the road against Kansas has been the highlight, but the Bears have been the most consistent team in an inconsistent college basketball season.

Aside from Butler, transfer MaCio Teague has had a big year, as well as Tristan Clark, who looks far removed from last season’s injury.

The Bears have what it takes to run the table the rest of the way, as long as they can hold off the Mountaineers and Red Raiders, and defeat Kansas once again in what should be the most hyped game of the season.

Where things stand right now, the Bears would be the top seed in the country heading into the tournament. A lot has to happen between now and then, but there are little negative things that can be said about Scott Drew’s squad, who look to be the best of the best in all of college basketball at the conclusion of the month of January.
