LSU sits all alone atop the SEC basketball standings with spots 2-10 only separated by two games. Where does everyone fall in this week’s power rankings?

SEC basketball is not as strong as it has been the last couple years when the league combined for 15 NCAA Tournament bids.  However, there is parity up and down the standings that lends itself to critical match-ups every week as teams jockey for position and try to stay on the right side of the bubble.

When I say parity, I am talking a razor-thin edge separating over half the league in several analytical measures.  In total, seven SEC teams (LSU, Auburn, Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State, and Alabama) find themselves between 19-42 in the all-important NET rankings.

That same group of seven sits between 32-46 in the KenPom ratings, and all of them sans Alabama are jumbled between 21-36 according to the BPI.  A big jump from red-hot, albeit unpredictable, South Carolina has made things even more interesting in the SEC.

As the league race reaches its mid-point, LSU is the only remaining unbeaten and has cemented themselves comfortably at the top with a two-game cushion over Auburn and Kentucky.  After that, it is anyone’s guess.

Some teams with strong overall resumes have struggled a bit as of late while others who got off to uneven starts find themselves catching fire at the right time.  As we gear up for what is sure to be a thrilling back half of the SEC slate, let’s take a look at how everyone stacks up as of right now in the power rankings.
