We are just over halfway into the 2020 Atlantic 10 Basketball schedule and the Dayton Flyers have looked unstoppable. With the season starting to wind down, how are the other teams doing as March starts to come closer?

This year’s Atlantic 10 Basketball season has proven to be a source of both safe consistencies and wild unpredictability. At the top of the standings, we have the undefeated in conference play #6 Dayton Flyers took care of business as expected by of possibly one of the best A10 teams this millennium as a Final Four/Championship caliber contender.

On the other side of the bracket, we have teams like Fordham and Saint Joseph’s, teams that may have looked somewhat decent at the beginning of the season by picking up a few good wins, but by the end of 2019, we all knew that they would be at this position right now, as would be expected from a perennial last-place team and a team that is in full rebuilding mode.

While we had an easy to predict the top and bottom of the conference, the mid-table has just been pure chaos at some points. We have six contenders for the last two double-bye spots at the conference tournament, coming from all types of preseason and pre-conference expectations with teams that projected to win the conference at the beginning of the season like VCU and Davidson underperforming while teams that were not that impressive in their non-conference schedules such as Saint Bonaventure and Duquesne are now thriving.

Those top four seeds will be a huge deal coming into March as following last season’s down year where only two teams made the tournament, we seem to be in a rebound with Dayton leading the efforts to get the conference noticed while other ranked teams are getting upset left and right, it can be considered a perfect storm for the A10 to get at least three bids again.

Now, over halfway into the conference schedule with the season coming one week closer to an end, let’s see just how well each team is doing.
