It’s been about four weeks since the last AAC Basketball Rankings were released and it’s good to be back, where do teams stand heading into the backstretch?

A lot of inconsistency means there’s a lot of movement in the rankings over the past few weeks. Houston is the only ranked team in the AAC Basketball right now coming in at #20 but Cincinnati received six votes.

We’re just a month away from the AAC tournament in Fort Worth Texas where it promises to be full of surprises. A reminder that the top four seeds in the conference tournament will get a first-round bye and get Thursday off. As of right now, those four teams would be Houston as the one seed with, Cincinnati, Tulsa and SMU right behind.

Jayden Gardner continues to impress with 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds for East Carolina, he’s playing at such a high level and if ECU were a little better he’d be a lock for AAC Player of the Year.

Jarron Cumberland is starting to show glimpses of what he did last season however he was completely shut down against UConn shooting just 1-11 from the floor. The Bearcats are on the rise despite the loss and are reentering the at large bid conversation.

Lots can change over this last month as teams fight for their seeding in the tournament and a bye game on Thursday. It’s a close race for the byes with three teams within one game of that fourth seed. Here’s how I think the teams stack up as of right now.
