3. Ride the wave produced by the home fans

As mentioned earlier, West Virginia has one of the best home crowds when it comes to packing the house and rattling the opposition.

In Wednesday’s game, the Mountaineers will need every ounce of energy that they can get from the fans.

On defense, this means forcing the Jayhawks into early shots. Kansas has not shot the three-ball well at all, so by forcing early threes from Isaiah Moss and Ochai Agbaji, the Mountaineers will be sure to limit the Jayhawks’ attack.

On offense, this means building momentum and riding it throughout the game. Feeding the ball to Miles McBride and Derek Culver early on should give the two every opportunity to get hot.

Momentum is everything in a game like this. Huge scoring runs will be the determining factor in the outcome of the game. If West Virginia can get a big lead early, the home fans should play a big role in limiting Kansas’ ability to produce offense consistently.
