Post-season play is quickly approaching and if some NCAA Basketball teams get hot, they can ride that momentum right into March. Here are five teams to watch as the season ends.

The calendar has turned to February and for some NCAA Basketball teams that means that conference tournaments are about three weeks away, but for the major conferences they have four or more weeks of regular season play and a lot cat happen in that time. Eight or nine games is plenty of time for a team to go from a team solidly in the field to one that finds itself perilously sitting on the bubble.

Conversely, teams can also solidify themselves as worthy of a tournament bid, as well as teams that can gather enough momentum that they get the proverbial ball rolling downhill fast enough that they become a team that makes a surprise run in their conference tournament and sometimes claiming the automatic bid from a higher seed.

While some of these teams might not be the conventional bid thieves, that is to say, a team that otherwise would not make the NCAA Tournament without the conference tournament title, there are always teams that seem to put things together in mid to late February and find themselves as one of the hottest teams in their respective conference tournaments. At this point in the month there is no shortage of those types of teams and now is a good time to try and identify some.

Here are five teams that I have chosen from the top seven conferences that as of right now find themselves in the middle of their conference standings but have shown flashes of putting together a strong run if they can gain that momentum.
