Another crazy week in NCAA basketball caused many changes in our power rankings. Penn State and Creighton, most notably, keep moving up.
Chaos has been the main these of this NCAA basketball season. Bluebloods have dropped unexpected games, mid-majors have risen into the national spotlight, and an incredible number of ranked teams have lost games week in and week out. Admist all this craziness, though, the Top 5 teams in my power rankings have remained rock-solid for the past several weeks.
It just appears as though Baylor, Gonzaga, Kansas, Dayton, and San Diego State are all content with being regarded as the best teams in the country. None of them have lost since reaching their respective spots and they have stayed steady as a result.
These five, though, appear to be the only ones that have been immune to the mayhem. During this past week alone, two popular national title picks in Seton Hall and Louisville suffered back-to-back losses. Both teams appear to be trending in the wrong direction based on their performances of the past week and it will be interesting to monitor how they try to recover into the next few games.
While those two have dropped, though, a pair of other teams are on the rise. Creighton and Penn State, most notably, are closing in on both being regarded as Top 10 teams. The Bluejays and Nittany Lions have been rolling as of late to climb up my power rankings.
Without any further ado, though, let’s dive right into my Top 25 NCAA Basketball Power Rankings for this week. (Disclaimer: I was very busy this weekend and did not have the time for the usual lengthy write-ups on each team. I have included paragraphs on each team with 4-5 per page.)
