Butler basketball will be looking to secure a big-time road win this week as it travels to face Seton Hall. What should the Dawgs prioritize?

This entire college basketball season has been wildly unpredictable and that holds true with regard to the Big East Conference as well. While Seton Hall was predicted to win the conference and started at 10-1, it has dropped back-to-back games since and there are now some disgruntled grumblings percolating in the locker room. Butler, on the other hand, was also projected to be one of the league’s top contenders heading into the new year but has stumbled to a 7-6 record so far while dealing with injuries.

These two teams are about to meet for the second time of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 19th and both are looking to get back on track with victories. Seton Hall, as already mentioned, has fallen short in each of its last two contests while the Dawgs have alternated wins and losses for its past six games. The two squads are in strong positions for landing quality seeds in the NCAA Tournament but this marks a Quadrant 1 opportunity for both.

Myles Powell vs. Kamar Baldwin is clearly the starring matchup worth noting as the two seniors are likely to wind up on the All-Big East Team at the end of the year. Perhaps most importantly, though, this game includes two of the most unsung players in the entire conference. Point guards Quincy McKnight and Aaron Thompson have both been essential in pushing their teams to successes this season by performing at DPOY levels on one end and creating at high rates on the other.

Now, without any further ado, let’s dive into three potential keys to success for Butler in this content and then a pregame edition of the Hark’s Bark.
