PG. Brooklyn Nets. Tre Jones. 21. player. 147.

Brooklyn, who has this pick from Philadelphia, does not need more scoring, yet they could use upgrades in their perimeter defense and point guard depth. Jones checks both of those boxes. He does have a limited ceiling and likely won’t develop into a starter in this league, his defense and feel for the game will allow him to have a significant impact off the bench.

22. player. 73. . PG. Denver Nuggets. Theo Maledon

Denver doesn’t have any big positional needs and at this point can take the best player available. That might be Maledon, an 18-year-old point guard who has made an impact in Euroleague action with his playmaking and ability to create his own shot. He will need time to develop, but he does have starter potential.

110. . SF. Miami Heat. Robert Woodard II. 23. player

Speaking of potential, Woodard is really only scratching the surface of the player he can become. The Mississippi State forward has an elite physical profile for a wing at 6-7 and 230 pounds with athleticism to boot. He’s an elite rebounder for his position and is a reliable shooter, making 45.5 percent of his shots from behind the arc. Woodard has the potential to be a lottery pick if he returns for his junior season, but his upside is so great that someone will take him in the first round. Miami would love to be that team and develop his skills behind Jimmy Butler.

24. player. 118. . C. Utah Jazz. Zeke Nnaji

Utah is another team that is pretty set, but their frontcourt could use an upgrade. I don’t think Nnaji will be anything more than an energy big used for his defense and rebounding – both areas he’s really good in, by the way – but that’s all the Jazz would need him to be.

player. 27. . C. New York Knicks. Isaiah Stewart. 25

New York’s second first-round pick comes via the Marcus Morris trade with the Clippers, and they would love to be the team that ends Stewart’s slide here. They need help in the middle and Stewart could provide that immediately with his rebounding. He is more of a true post player without much of a perimeter game, but he is quick enough to hold his own on the defensive end.
