Arizona State Sun Devils (19-9, 10-4 Pac-12)

The Pac-12 is jumbled at the top, with five teams separated by just one game. But at the top currently is Arizona State, who is on a major run having won 9 of 10 games. This week, they took care of business at home in a pair of tight games against the Oregon schools. The Sun Devils defeated No. 14 Oregon, 77-72 with Alonzo Verge and Rob Edwards combining for 50 points in the win.

Arizona State followed that up with a trap game against a capable Oregon State squad. It was close throughout, with the Beavers having multiple chances to win in the end. But the Sun Devils prevailed, 74-73 to avoid a tough loss and continue moving up in both the standings and overall Bracketology.

The resume for Arizona State is sold but is a bit volatile. Currently, they’re 5-6 against Quad 1 opponents and 4-2 versus Quad 2 foes but that can change if Oregon State and Washington slide down just a few spots. That’s why this is still a projected double-digit seed despite being No. 1 in the Pac-12.

Next week will be huge for the Sun Devils, with a pair of road matchups against both UCLA and USC. Those games will have huge consequences on the bubble so make sure to check out the Pac-12 games besides those involving Oregon and Arizona. If things go right, the conference will have more NCAA Tournament teams in the field more than the ACC and even the SEC as well, thanks to teams like Arizona State making a run.
