6. Chattanooga

Record: 17-12 (8-8 SoCon)

The Chattanooga Mocs have had even doses of ups and downs the entire season in conference play. Just when they string a few wins together and look like they may be competitive, they fall to an opponent they should beat.

Nonetheless, nobody has been entirely safe against Chattanooga. They have proven that they can scare almost anyone. In both of their losses to Furman, the games were within single digits, and the Paladins had to battle until the very end to escape.

The Mocs have lost two of their last three, but along with Wofford, they are capable of making things interesting in the SoCon Tournament.

5. Mercer

Record: 15-14 (9-7 SoCon)

A few weeks back, there was a stretch in which the Mercer Bears won six straight games. In their six games since, they have gone an even 3-3. With only two games of the regular season left against both The Citadel and Wofford, Mercer has a great opportunity to pick up two wins that could help them achieve a better seed in the SoCon Basketball Tournament.

The Bears are led by senior guard, Djordje Dimitrijevic, who averages 17.1 ppg. He has been the difference-maker for his squad, allowing them to never be out of close contests in conference play.

With what they have compared to the talent the top SoCon Basketball teams possess, I think Mercer ought to be pleased with what they have been able to do.
