San Diego State basketball got a bounce-back win against Colorado State on Tuesday night and now they’ll look to build some momentum for the Mountain West tournament with a strong finish to the regular season.

San Diego State Basketball struggled for their second straight game, but they were able to overcome their early shooting woes against CSU unlike in their loss to UNLV. Coming back to beat the Rams gave them a chance to still end up with the best regular-season Mountain West record ever (they’d have a better win percentage than the Utah team that only lost once).

They are also still in the running for the Mountain West’s first No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. To reach these goals, they’ll need to leave Reno with a win before trying to go 3-0 in Vegas next week.

Unlike San Diego State, Nevada is still fighting for seeding in the Mountain West tournament. They currently find themselves tied with Utah State for 2nd place and will need to win this game to even have a hope of taking that 2 seed (they would also need Utah State to lose to New Mexico, which seems unlikely). Nevada has been on a nice run lately, winning their last six games, which should give them some confidence as they try to defend their home court against the Aztecs.

This matchup will take place on Saturday afternoon at Lawlor Events Center in Reno. It will certainly be a game to keep an eye on as it could be a preview of the Mountain West tournament final. Even if it isn’t’ it’s a game that should provide plenty of excitement as two of the country’s best 3 point offenses square off.
