Big 12 Basketball power rankings: Kansas remains at the top in March
2. Baylor Bears (25-3, 14-2)
The Baylor Bears are still a clear one seed in the NCAA Tournament, but Saturday’s loss to TCU was both shocking and demoralizing, as it likely knocked the Bears out of contention for the Big 12 Title, assuming that Kansas wins out in their final two games.
Past that little slip-up, the Bears have been one of the top teams in the country, as Scott Drew has brought out a balanced attack that can compete, and beat, literally every single team in the country.
A run to the Big 12 Tournament Championship game seems likely, and unless the Bears lose in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament, a one seed seems to be locked up for this group, which is stunning considering how few people expected Baylor of all teams to be at the top of the rankings as late in the season as they are.
The work is not done for Drew’s group, but where things stand right now, Baylor looks very well-positioned for a deep NCAA Tournament run.
