As usual, the Big South will deal out a single bid to the NCAA Basketball Tournament this season. For a mid-major league such as this one to get multiple bids, a single team would have had to dominate the regular season, winning almost all non-conference games and suffering hardly any losses. That team would then have to be upset in the conference tournament and hope the committee favors them. It may happen elsewhere, but not in the Big South.

With one bid being dealt to the winner of the Big South Basketball Tournament, it seems as if Radford, Winthrop, and Gardner Webb have the best shot at winning that bid. It is certainly anybody’s contest, but nobody has performed at the level of these three.

When trying to pick which of the three teams it will be, the NCAA Basketball analysts are torn. Some NCAA Tournament bracket projections show Radford in the field, while a few others are saying it will be Winthrop to win the bid. In a lot of these brackets, Winthrop and Radford are projected to be given a 14, 15, or 16 seed. In our latest edition of Bracketology at Busting Brackets, we currently have Radford winning the Big South Basketball Tournament and being dealt a 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
