Quarterfinals

1) Radford vs. 8) Charleston Southern

Charleston Southern will have its hands full in this game and I think Radford’s talent will be too much for the Buccaneers. Their hope in keeping it close most likely rests on the shoulders of forward Phlandrous Fleming. Unfortinately, the top seed will just be too much for this matchup.

Prediction: Radford 74 – Charleston Southern 58

2) Winthrop vs. 10) High Point

It is no secret that the Winthrop Eagles have been in a bit of a slump over the last few games. They are, however, getting back on track. They will very much be competitive throughout the entire Big South Basketball Tournament, and I do not think High Point is capable of giving them any big problems.

Prediction: Winthrop 82 – 68

3) Gardner Webb vs. 11) Campbell

Campbell is not the offensive threat they used to be. I also do not feel like they have the weapons to compete with this Gardner Webb squad that is hungry to defend their Big South crown from a season ago. In their first two meetings, the Gardner Webb Bulldogs were victorious. This third game will be no different.

Prediction: Gardner Webb 74 – Campbell 60

4) Longwood vs. 5) Hampton

Hampton’s Jermaine Marrow has had a heck of a college career. He is definitely on his way to a professional career somewhere. Until then, I think he will have a great showing in the Big South Basketball Tournament. Marrow may very well take over this game, but Longwood needs to be recognized for their performance as of late. They have won four straight games, one of which was against Hampton. They boast a deep roster that is loaded with a few guys that are very efficient offensive weapons. It will be a fun battle but I think Jermaine Marrow and Hampton get it done.

Prediction: Hampton 73 – Longwood 62
