This week’s edition of my NCAA basketball Top 25 power rankings features a pair of bluebloods trending in opposite directions down the stretch.

The 2019-20 NCAA Basketball season is drawing to a close. Mid-majors around the country have begun finishing their regular-season schedules and the major conferences aren’t far away from beginning their conference tournaments either. With that said, we are closing in on the last few installments of my NCAA Basketball power rankings for the season. While there has certainly been plenty of turnover throughout this season with the rankings, the No. 1 spot is still being held by a preseason national title favorite.

Kansas was widely anticipated to be a Top 5 team in the nation this season and it has lived up to that billing. The Jayhawks currently hold the No. 1 spot in not just my rankings but just about every metric system as well. Kansas’ ridiculous efficiency margin on KenPom is perhaps the most obvious explanation for how dominant this team has been. The Jayhawks rank in the Top 10 nationally in both adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency as they are clearly the best team in the country at this moment.

After the top spot, the rest of the Top 5 seems relatively solid as well with Gonzaga, Baylor, Dayton, and San Diego State. While these four could pretty much be ranked in any order, all of them deserve to be in the Top 5 thanks to very strong seasons. They should all also be rewarded with slots on the Top 2 seed lines for March Madness as well based on bracketology projections at this moment.

Now, without any further ado, though, let’s dive into my entire Top 25 NCAA Basketball rankings as of March 2nd, 2020.
