Butler basketball has won back-to-back games. What will it take to end the regular season on a three-game winning streak with the finale coming at Xavier?

Only one regular-season game remains on Butler basketball’s schedule. To this point in the year, the Dawgs have played quite well to launch out to a 21-9 (9-8 BE) record and they have “locked” up a spot in the NCAA Tournament in a couple of weeks but are also playing for favorable placement. Butler is currently projected on the No. 5 seed line both by the Bracket Matrix and our bracketology here at Busting Brackets.

In order to keep climbing, though, Butler will need to find a way to take down Xavier in the Cintas Center. This will certainly prove to be a difficult contest considering the Musketeers boast an excellent home crowd, will be celebrating their Senior Day, and are looking to improve their resume for the Selection Committee to analyze next weekend. Xavier has won six of its last nine games and is currently projected on the No. 10/10 seed line (Bracket Matrix/Busting Brackets).

While Xavier is fresh off losing on the road to Providence, Butler has taken care of business in its last two games with blowout victories over DePaul and St. John’s. This is a pivotal battle for Xavier as it looks to avoid playing in the 7/10 matchup on the first day of the Big East Tournament as well. Considering this is the last regular-season game for both teams, there are obviously plenty of postseason implications.

Now, without any further ado, let’s dive into three potential keys to success for the visiting Butler Bulldogs.
