Ohio State Buckeyes

While Wisconsin has been on a major run in the Big Ten, what Ohio State has done may be more impressive. The Buckeyes have won six of seven, including wins over Maryland, Michigan and Illinois recently. It gives this team a 14-9 record against Quad 1 and 2 opponents while having a NET ranking in the top-15.

There were a point and time when the Buckeyes were considered the best team in the country but injuries and offensive issues caused them to fall out of the rankings altogether in January. Since then they’ve recovered and has looked like a Final Four contender once again.

Ohio State is currently projected as a 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament, with a chance to move up with a game against Michigan State on Sunday. A win would clinch them a 5 seed where a loss could have them as down as 8 for the Big Ten Conference Tournament.

The Big Ten presents a major opportunity for teams who can go deep in this tournament. The winner will get likely at least three Quad 1 wins and can move up multiple seed lines for the Big Dance. If Ohio State continues to play like this, there’s no reason why they can’t be the team to take advantage of this situation.
