Duke basketball picked up the season sweep of North Carolina on Senior Night, with some big performance from Justin Robinson, Vernon Carey Jr. and Tre Jones.

The first Duke-North Carolina game this year was one of the most exciting games of the 2019-20 season. An overtime-thriller that saw Duke basketball walk away with their fifth-straight win in what would go on to be a seven-game winning streak. Duke would go on to struggle in ACC play for a stretch, losing three out of four games at one point.

The Blue Devils have slightly righted the ship and they were hungry for a win on Saturday. The Tar Heels have also been playing some of their best basketball as of late and for that reason, college basketball fans were again looking forward to an instant classic, this time on Coach K Court.

The game was certainly entertaining but couldn’t live up to the impossibly high bar set by the first matchup. But nonetheless, the Blue Devils had the Cameron Crazies going wild on what turned out to be a very special Senior Night.

Coach K started all three of the Duke basketball seniors: Jack White, Javin DeLaurier, and Justin Robinson. White play six minutes on the night—posting a “trillion” in his time on the floor—while DeLaurier played 11 minutes, finishing with four points, two rebounds, three steals, and a block. Robinson made some big contributions but more on that later. Overall, Duke used a total team to effort to keep their foot on the gas as North Carolina made a second-half push.

With the regular season wrapped up and Duke basketball finishing tied with Louisville and Virginia for second place in the ACC, let’s take a look back at the main takeaways from Duke’s Senior Night win.
