Florida State Basketball won the ACC regular-season title this season as they look to keep it going into postseason play.

It’s honestly a surprise that Florida State Basketball has finished the season so strong. But then again it isn’t either. For the past month, the Seminoles have put themselves in a great position by taking care of business. With the team winning 9 of their last 11 games, the Noles have officially become the No. 1 team in the ACC Conference.

The one impressive thing about the Noles this season is that the team doesn’t have a “superstar” that has been leading the way. With their chemistry on both ends along with fantastic ball movement, they’ve gotten much production out of everyone who steps on the floor and each player has done their job when called upon.

Throughout the season, the Noles have had to compete in a pretty tough ACC conference. With Duke being at the top of the conference the majority of the season, this team has been right in the mix with their winning culture. And throughout the year, they have proven to many that they have the capability to compete with the best of teams across the country when given the chance.

One interesting thing about the Noles is that they fight until the end. Even when things don’t seem to be going in their favor, the team always tends to stay poised and find a way to weather the storm.

We’ve seen this in many games whether it was against Duke, Virginia, etc. Florida State always finds continues to compete whether it ends in a winning or losing effort. All of that takes place from Head Coach Leonard Hamilton and his brilliance as a Coach. He’s brought a winning environment to this Seminoles locker room over the past few seasons and each year they’ve carried that winning culture into an improvement of another epic basketball season.

Florida State has been playing great basketball just at the right time. With the ACC tournament approaching along with March Madness, they’ll only take it up to another level in order to achieve their ultimate goal.

In the ACC Tournament, the teams that are standing in the way of this team winning is Duke, Louisville, and Virginia. Now the Noles have had much success and some downfalls against these teams this season. So now it comes down to who wants it more and which team will properly execute to win each game.

With Florida State’s style on the floor, they can beat their opponents with their fantastic ball movement. With the way these guys make the extra pass, they have great IQ players who can get a good look at the basket or beyond the perimeter at any time. The team shot 45% for the season. So them getting great shot selection and making on a consistent basis can take teams out of rhythm on the defense.

On defense, the guys will have to keep the same energy going. The Noles can be a great defensive team when everyone is engaged. But they can also not give as much energy on defense as well in certain stretches of games. Heading into the Tournaments, the Noles are gonna need to take their defensive level to the max. If they can lock down on defense for all 40+ minutes, then they’ll see themselves getting far this season in the Tournament.

In the past two seasons, the Seminoles have taken more steps proving that they are a legitimate team in the NCAA. After a bitter upset last season in the Sweet 16, the team is looking to come back stronger than ever and make a run at a championship. It is everyone’s job to play their position on the floor and make winning plays to get themself through each round of the Tournament.
