Big Ten Basketball

In a weird and wild Big Ten basketball season that ended too early, the Spartans ended the year right where they began, with a few surprises along the way.

Big Ten Basketball was incredible this year. Every one of the top 12 teams had a chance to win every night and they all were either a lock or on the bubble for the NCAA tournament this year. Nebraska and Northwestern were the only teams that seemed to be a lost cause but the Wildcats would pull off a huge upset on the last weekend beating Penn State.

It was nearly impossible to win on the road and it seemed like everyone could win on any given night. All teams seemed to go on a run and a slump throughout the year and at some point, almost every team looked like they had a claim to be the best team in the country.

Rutgers, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Penn State were all surprises this year. Michigan won the Battle 4 Atlantis and beat Gonzaga by 18 points. Michigan State struggled at times, but also played some of the best basketball in the country by seasons end. Maryland finally won a share of the conference title and so did the Badgers.

Unfortunately, we were robbed of seeing probably one of the craziest Big Ten tournaments ever, but we can still look back at a great season. We take one last shot at ranking the Big Ten teams before we say goodnight to the season. For each team we take a look at their MVP and the best moment for their team this year. So without further ado, the final Big Ten rankings of the 2019-20 season.
