The 2020 NCAA Tournament has been canceled, but our thoughts toward the many possible tournament scenarios have not. Which hypothetical matchups would NCAA basketball fans have wanted to see most in the NCAA Tournament?

The 2019-20 NCAA basketball season was as exciting and surprising as expected. I would even go far enough to say that this season seemed to be even crazier than years past. All the craziness brought about by this season only meant one thing: the NCAA Tournament was going to be real wild. Unfortunately, due to the spread of COVID-19 leading to the cancellation of the tournament, NCAA basketball fans are now unable to see how wild it was going to be.

Yep, it’s a sad March for the fans, and it is even more difficult of time for all of the players that worked so hard to get their teams into the big dance. After all, this past Sunday was supposed to be Selection Sunday, and rather than getting to watch as the NCAA Tournament bracket was unveiled, we were forced to continue binge-watching TV shows while being self-quarantined in our homes.

No, we do not get the chance to sit back and watch actual games; however, we still get to think back about all of the great moments that defined the season. Also, while the tournament has been canceled, the talk about the bracket, the potential matchups, and the overall NCAA Tournament debate are as heated as ever. With that said, this article is dedicated to the potential matchups that would have had NCAA basketball fans on the edge of their seat the most.

This list of games consists of a couple matchups that we have already had the privilege of seeing this year, but those games were just too good to not be seen again. Also on this list are a few games that feature exciting in-state matchups, games between conference rivals, games between teams with clashing styles, and must-see games between NCAA Tournament Goliaths.
