Gonzaga vs. Kansas

This potential NCAA Tournament matchup is between the two squads that would have honestly played in many must-see games. The truth is, they have both played very beautiful basketball all season, and the battle between them may have added clarity to the National Championship picture.

Not many teams in NCAA basketball are as complete as these two. While both are extremely deep and have plenty of scoring options, I feel like this game would come down to the coaching battle between Bill Self and Mark Few. Sure, it can be said that coaching has a huge impact on the outcome of just about any game in the NCAA Tournament, but I mean in terms of schemes, it will come down to a few by either team.

Besides the coaching matchup that will decide this game, the depth of either team will play a huge role in deciding who takes the upper hand. I expect that Kansas forward, Udoka Azubuike, would do his damage down low as usual, but the solid frontcourt of Gonzaga would be more than capable of containing him just enough.

On the other hand, Filip Petrusev, Corey Krispert, and the other lethal scorers of Gonzaga provide Sophomore guard, Devon Dotson, and the rest of the Kansas backcourt with a huge task. The war on this end of the floor would come down to the ability of the Kansas guards to be quick and play aggressively against all of Gonzaga’s scoring options.

Due to the number of great battles this game would present us, it is hard to pick a winner. Both, after all, were two of the best NCAA basketball teams this season. The NCAA Tournament game between them may have gone down as one of the best games in recent years.
