27. Purdue Boilermakers (3 commits)

Average Class Ranking: 27.5

Purdue has emerged as one of the most consistently successful programs in the nation over the past several years. Head coach Matt Painter has really pushed the Boilermakers to new heights with his long run of talented big men and then Carsen Edwards helped propel the team to the Elite Eight in 2019. While it was unlikely that Purdue would have danced during this past season, it still finished the year ranked at No. 22 in KenPom.

Heading into the future, Purdue’s 2020 class is shaping up to be incredible. The Boilermakers have secured three early commits and they all fit the mold of players that should make major impacts during their times with the program.

Jaden Ivey, a 6-foot-2 in-state combo guard, is the highest-rated of this group and he experienced a huge jump in rating after a huge summer. Ivey is a premier shot-maker on the wing and has soared all the way up to being ranked at No. 74/74 in the class. He can fill it up off the bounce and also knock down catch-and-shoot jumpers.

It is also important to mention that Purdue locked up its playmaker of the future as well. At 6-foot-4 with unreal court vision, Ethan Morton can play a variety of positions and should dictate the offense for most of his career. He is ranked as the No. 82/79 player in the class and is remarkably impressive with the ball in his hands.

Even the lowest-rated commit in Purdue’s class seems to be a potential steal. Zach Edey (No. 387/NR) out of IMG Academy was somewhat overlooked during the recruiting process but brings a raw 7-foot-3 frame to the table. The Boilermakers have developed bigs tremendously well in the past and Edey could be the next in line.
