Arkansas Basketball: 2019-20 season review for the Razorbacks
Arkansas basketball may have finished right about where they were projected in the SEC standings, but the Razorbacks overcame several obstacles to exceed expectations overall.
Injuries are certainly part of the game and there are no consolation prizes for struggling when missing key players. However, take away Arkansas’ 5 game stretch without Isaiah Joe, and the Razorbacks were 20-7. That proves that the Hogs were quite formidable at full strength.
I will be one of the first to admit that I was skeptical coming into the season. With only 9 scholarship players, none of which standing taller than 6’8″, it was fair to question the depth, size, and durability of the Razorbacks.
Sure, the Hogs struggled with some of those things at times, but there is little doubt that Eric Musselman maximized this team’s potential and did a brilliant job of game-planning and making adjustments to keep the Razorbacks in several games that quite honestly they should not have been in.
When it is all said and done, if someone told Arkansas fans that they would win 20 games and be in the conversation for an NCAA Tournament bid with this team, nearly every one of them would have been thrilled.
