Alabama Basketball and head coach Nate Oats are trying to change UA’s reputation as a football-only school and on Friday the Tide took another step in that direction.

On the one-year anniversary of Alabama Basketball signing Nate Oats as the school’s 21st head basketball coach, the Crimson Tide added top-international prospect, Josh Primo to their 2020-21 roster.

The commitment makes the Crimson Tide even better heading into the season, adding to what appeared to be an already impressive roster. Coming off a disappointing end to the season in which Alabama lost eight of their final 12 games after being a bubble-team, the Tide have their eyes locked on next season.

With the addition of Primo, here is what the Tide’s roster looks like heading into 2020-21:

In addition to that, Alabama could also get back John Petty and/or Kira Lewis, who have both entered their names into the NBA Draft but have done so without agents, thus keeping their eligibility to play at Alabama should they decide to take their names out.

Alabama has the potential to be a VERY good team next season. With the additions of Ambrose, Primo, Gary, Quinerly and Rojas, the Crimson Tide are going to look MUCH different in 2020-21, than they did in 2019-20.

With all these additions, it’ll be interesting to see how Nate Oats splits minutes now that he has guys coming back from injury, guys who are now eligible to play and also incoming freshman added onto his roster of solid players that includes Herb Jones, Jaden Shackelford and others.

If all goes according to plan, Alabama is set to be a top-three team in the SEC next season and If either Kira Lewis and/or John Petty comes back, they could legitimately win the SEC as crazy as that sounds.

Stay tuned to that basketball team down in Tuscaloosa because The University of Alabama has more than just a football team.
