Maryland Basketball is coming off a Big Ten title with Mark Turgeon’s best Terrapin team to date. Here is a look at the players the Terps will be adding and losing due to transfer for next season

A pandemic saw this season came to a close amidst unfortunate circumstances, but fortunately for Maryland Basketball fans, it ended with cutting down the nets. Senior point guard and leader Anthony Cowan Jr. finished his college career within Maryland’s top ten all-time in both points and assists, at seventh and fifth respectively.

Cowan and sophomore forward Jalen Smith garnered First Team All-Big Ten honors while sophomore Aaron Wiggins was selected as the conference’s Sixth Man of the Year. The Terrapins’ share of the Big Ten title is Mark Turgeon’s first as Maryland head coach and the program’s first since joining the conference in 2014.

The Terrapins will look to continue their success in the 2020-2021 season despite losing a couple major contributors and having a depleted-at-best frontcourt rotation. Given that this past season’s Maryland squad didn’t have very much depth to begin with – something that was fully apparent by season’s end – the fallout looks to be major barring a complete restructuring of the rotation by newcomers. In recent days, the Terrapins have been very active in the NCAA Transfer market and may potentially land players who can play immediate minutes for Mark Turgeon.

Let’s take a look at Maryland Basketball’s transfer losses and potential additions.
