A great matchup here for the final four, Kansas ended the season as the number one seed, and they’ll meet Michigan State for a chance to make the National Championship game. For Michigan State, you look at guys like Cassius Winston and Xavier Tillman, both who are projected to be first-round picks in the upcoming NBA draft, and each has had a storied career for the Spartans. For Kansas, it’s Devon Dotson and the senior Udoko Azubuike, anything less than a national championship would be an utter disappointment for Kansas.

You couldn’t really have asked for a better head coaching matchup for a final four-game, in this scenario this would have been Tom Izzo’s ninth Final Four appearance. For Kansas head coach Bill Self it would have marked appearance number four. You really can’t ask for more with two hall of fame coaches going head to head with a national championship birth on the line.

For me, the best matchup in this game would have been the battle in the paint between Xavier Tillman and Kansas big man Udoko Azubuike. Two bullies down in the paint on both sides of the ball that are aggressive and both averaging a double-double on the season. Both averages over two blocks a game and are huge disruptions on both sides of the ball.

I would expect a close game that goes the distance, but I’m giving the edge to Kansas. The Jayhawks are the number one seed and closed the season winning sixteen straight going into the Big 12 tournament. Azubuike goes on to have a monster game and the Jayhawks are playing for a national championship.
