Preview of Next Season

As of right now, the Tigers have only one newcomer for next season in Junior College Transfer Ahmad Rand who averaged nine points and eight rebounds last year at USC Salkehatchie. But that could change as the Tigers are in the running for five-star recruits such as Jalen Green and Greg Brown.

Even if the Tigers just get Rand, they have a boatload of talent coming back next year. They will most likely lose Precious Achuiwa who will probably head to the NBA. But the Tigers will get back D.J. Jeffries and Lester Quinones who both averaged 10 points a game. They will also get back Tyler Harris and Boogie Ellis who averaged eight points a game and were highly touted recruits coming out of high school. With all that coming back, they will also get point guard Alex Lomax who was fourth in the AAC for assists per game.

With most of the same roster coming back for next year, Memphis should be primed for a very good season. And with Penny Hardaway’s knack for getting highly rated recruits, the Tigers should be one of the top teams in AAC for years to come.
