As the NCAA basketball offseason progresses, there are still a few huge recruiting battles ensuing in the 2020 recruiting class. How might these play out?

The 2020 NCAA basketball offseason started a bit earlier than many were expecting amidst the concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus. With the NCAA Tournament being canceled, the season was cut short by a few weeks and the entire college basketball landscape radically changed in a hurry. Instead of discussing the result of the Big Dance in early April, coaches and fans alike have already completely shifted gears to discuss the 2020-21 season.

As has been the case in recent years, the transfer portal has once again been a major talking point during the first few weeks of the offseason. There has already been a ton of roster movement across the country as players have elected to move teams. Over 700 players have already decided to enter the transfer portal and that number will surely continue to grow, especially with the ongoing discussion to potentially pass the one-time transfer waiver rule.

While transfers have ruled the headlines of NCAA basketball for the past few weeks, though, there are still some extremely important recruiting battles brewing from the 2020 class. There are seven, in particular, that are perhaps the most pivotal. These players all fit the bill of those that could be immediately impactful at their potential destinations as true freshmen during this upcoming season. These are the types of difference-makers that will be making headlines next season.

So, without any further ado, let’s dive into analyzing these seven players and how their recruitments seem to be shaping up. (Note: JT Thor would also make this list but he is making his commitment on April 12th so he was excluding for the purposes of when this article is being released. This piece also does not account for players that could reclassify in the coming weeks from 2021 to 2020.)
