Cincinnati Basketball has made the final four list for Michigan transfer David Dejulius, here’s what you need to know and his potential impact before he makes his decision.

Michigan transfer David Dejulius has included Cincinnati in his final four schools this weekend, along with Iowa State, Missouri, and Marquette. Dejulius had heard from 20+ high major schools after entering the transfer portal before narrowing his list down to four. The point guard appeared in all 31 games this past season for Michigan and averaged 7.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in just 20 minutes per game.

Dejulius would be a much-needed addition to an extremely young backcourt for Cincinnati, freshman Mika Adams-Woods is really the only returning point guard on the roster however the Bearcats do have commitments from four-star Mike Saunders and three-star Mason Madsen. Mika Adams-Woods did start 19 games last season.

John Brannen and the Cats lose a lot of talent this year with the departures of Jarron Cumberland, Tre Scott and Jaevin Cumberland. There’s going to be a lot of youth and inexperience as Brannen enters year two as the Bearcats head coach. Cincinnati won the regular-season title in the AAC this past year but have been really hurt by not getting much national exposure in the AAC tournament or the NCAA tournament.

David Dejulius is a guy that made a big jump from his freshman to sophomore year making him an intriguing transfer option, he posted a career-high 20 points at Maryland in the last game of the season in just 20 minutes of game time. He reached double digits in 10 games this season.

Dejulius is confident running the point and someone that looked pretty comfortable with the ball in his hands last season. With just 20 turnovers this past season (0.64 per game), his ball security would be a big boost for the Bearcats. Cincinnati had 432 turnovers last season in just 30 games (14.4 per game).

The former four-star prospect out of high school originally hails from Detroit Michigan and David Dejulius originally committed to Michigan when John Beilein was still the head coach. He’s likely in a situation where he would have to sit one year to play two unless he were to get a waiver from the NCAA.

David Dejulius is expected to make his decision between Cincinnati, Iowa State, Missouri, and Marquette in the next week.
