NCAA Basketball: Ranking of top 100 senior players from 2019-20 season
There are a number of quality NCAA Basketball players whose seasons ended abruptly. Here’s a look at the top overall careers from this class.
One of the most emotional parts of NCAA Basketball every season is the last collegiate game for the seniors, knowing that their careers are over in the final seconds of a loss. Outside of a couple of players from the national championship-winning team, those surreal moments happen to thousands of young men and women.
Unfortunately, those types of heartbreak and breakthrough in March were canceled, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. There were a few teams who got to celebrate winning their respective conference tournaments but for many others, a feeling of unfinished business came in with the official announcement from the NCAA that it was all over. Their careers ended once the NCAA committee elected to give spring athletes an extra year of eligibility but not to winter sports players such as with basketball.
Even with the sudden end, it doesn’t take away from the many quality careers of the departing senior players. There aren’t too many of them these days, with so many opting to go pro beforehand. But there is still a ton of quality talent that has remained for the past four years.
For this project, I’ll be taking a look at the top overall careers from all the players from the senior class of 2020. For the rankings, I’ll be taking into account the overall 4-year production, accomplishments and winning, along with the overall meaning to the program. There are many who were left out and deserve at least an honorable mention, including Sean McDermott (Butler), Jonah Radebaugh (Northern Colorado) and Isaiah Blackmon (St. Francis).
This is far from an exact science but I wanted to give one final look at the players who have given Busting Brackets and other NCAA Basketball blogs and websites so much content over the last four years. Here’s a look at the top 100 senior players from this past season.
