Jerod Haase has been doing good things since he has been the head coach at Stanford Basketball. He could never land his signature recruit until now with Ziaire Williams coming aboard.

The Easter Bunny was very good to the Stanford Basketball program and head coach Jerod Haase. While most of us received chocolate bunnies and family time as we all embrace our new normal. The Stanford Basketball head coach received that and much more. He was able to secure a commitment for a top 10 ranked player and a player who could change the outlook of the Cardinal basketball program for years to come. It was the commitment that coach Haase needed to finally get his team over the top.

Ziaire Williams out of Sierra Canyon High School announced his commitment to Stanford yesterday. Busting Brackets wrote about the potential commitment and fit of Williams to Stanford. Williams comes out of the Sierra Canyon program. Many including myself thought that team may have been the best high school team ever. Williams was the best player on a team that had Bronny James Jr., Zaire Wade, Top 150 prospect Terran Frank and fellow top-10 recruit nationally BJ Boston.

Williams chose the Cardinal over offers from Arizona, North Carolina and USC. He is the highest-ranked commit to play in Palo Alto since the recruiting sites released their rankings. His number 5 overall ranking was higher than both Brook and Robin Lopez. It has not been since Jason and Jarron Collins, Casey Jacobson and Josh Childress that Stanford has received a player of that caliber. All Cardinal fans know what happened when those players were in Palo Alto. With what the Cardinal have returning this has the chance to be a very special team.
