NCAA Basketball: Top 10 returning players for 2020-21 season
By William Cash
4. Marcus Zegarowski (Creighton)
Zegarowski had an outstanding sophomore season, averaging 16 points, three rebounds, five assists, and shot 48% from the field. Zegarowski is just an offensive weapon who can score in so many different ways. He shot 42% from behind the arc, shot 54% on two-pointers and had seven games with at least 20 points and dropping 30 points two times this year.
Zegarowski’s counterpart Ty-Shon Alexander is a great player in his own right. But what makes Zegarowski better is his outstanding efficiency and his passing ability. Zegarowski had 14 games this season where he had six assists or more. Advanced stats say that he is likely to assist on a play 27% during each possession.
Zegarowski also turned heads in the Big East. He was All-Big East second team and probably would’ve been first-team if it would not have been for the stacked senior class this year in the Big East. Zegarowski was also sixth in the conference in scoring and fourth in the conference in assists.
With Zegarowski coming back to Creighton along with Ty-Shon Alexander and a stock load of other talents. Creighton will be one of the best teams in the nation and contend for a National Championship.
