A shocking development in college basketball, Tulane Basketball star Teshaun Hightower has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony according to Henry County Jail Records.

Teshaun Hightower was arrested and taken into Henry County Sherrif’s Department’s custody late on Saturday evening. There is currently no bond amount listed on their website, he was due in court this morning but is now not due back until May 20th. The junior guard with Tulane Basketball was a star for Ron Hunter this past season and had just recently declared for the NBA draft on April 18th.

Hightower was arrested along with five others so far on Saturday evening in connection with a homicide investigation dating all the way back to April 8th. The homicide is said to have taken place in Stockbridge Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta and about half an hour from Hightower’s hometown of Lithonia.

Hightower averaged a team-high 15.9 points per game and was going to be a huge part of Ron Hunter’s plans this season should he have returned to school. Ron Hunter and Tulane have not yet made an announcement at the time of this posting.

Tulane is already being hit hard this season with the departures of Christion Thompson, K.J Lawson, and Nic Thomas. The Green Wave is likely to lean heavily on Jordan Walker and Kevin Zhang as they try and navigate around this. Pittsburgh grad transfer Ryan Murphy should provide a spark for Tulane as they wait to find out the status’ of transfers Gabe Watson, Oton Jankovic, and Jaylen Forbes. Assuming he’s not able to play basketball anymore, this will have huge ramifications throughout the AAC.
