4. SMU Mustangs

Key Losses: None?

Key Returners: Everyone?

Potential Impact Newcomer: No new additions

Breakout Candidate: Emmanuel Bandoumel

Isiaha Mike and Feron Hunt have both declared for the draft but are both maintaining their college eligibility. Mike and Hunt would be massive losses for the Mustangs as they were both big contributors averaging double-digit points. Going off the assumption they are both coming back SMU should easily be a top-five AAC team next season.

SMU had one of the best backcourts in the league last year and has no graduating seniors but losing Mike and Hunt both would make things really hard, neither of them is easily replaceable. SMU currently has no freshman coming in next season.

As far as the rest of the roster Kendric Davis and Tyson Jolly are both coming back and that’s already a big win. There will be a large veteran presence and guys that know the system. Tim Jankovich is a great coach and wants to make SMU a regular NCAA tournament participant.

The Mustangs fan base and coaches will be holding their breath awaiting the decisions of Isiaha Mike and Feron Hunt. SMU might just be one of the best teams in this conference if they manage to get those two back. With Jolly already back things look promising.
