NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing 5* wing Harrison Ingram top 10 teams
Louisville Cardinals
Despite losing incoming JUCO guard Jay Scrubb to the NBA Draft, the Cardinals made up for it by landing grad transfer guards Charles Minlend and Carlik Jones. With incoming four-star wing D’Andre Davis coming on board and former five-star guard/wing Samuel Williamson still around, the team is set for the upcoming season. But they’ll need an addition in the 2021 class that can score, making Ingram a top target for the program.
But with the NCAA once again after the Cardinals program, it may not be the safest place for a commit to go to. It’s unknown what potential sanctions may come from the latest set of allegations but it would affect the 2021-22 season instead of next year. Louisville will hope that this ends sooner than later or risk having another dark cloud over their heads for a year. The last time this happened, they had to forfeit a postseason appearance.
Memphis Tigers
There’s some talk about the Tigers landing a late five-star prospect this offseason to make up for not having any kind of recruiting class this time around but it’s clear that the program is looking towards the 2021 class, with a number of top-tier recruits currently in the picture. Besides Ingram, Memphis is targeting JD Davison, Jonathan Kuminga, Jaden Hardy and Kennedy Chandler, all ranked as five-star prospects.
The likelihood of the Tigers landing at least one of them is high, potentially pairing them with Virginia Tech transfer Landers Nolley. It would be interesting seeing how Ingram would fit with the former Hokie, as the ladder is ball-dominant. It terms of priority, Memphis will be targeting a point guard and a center first, so they may wait to see where they stand with Ingram before making a full-throated effort.
