It’s been two months since the premature end of the NCAA Basketball season. The latest Busting Brackets Podcast covers the biggest news stories to this date.

The Busting Brackets Podcast is back after a little offseason hiatus. We hope everyone is staying safe and strong through the Covid-19 pandemic as sports and everything else gets closer to returning. That includes NCAA Basketball and the hopeful start of next season in November.

There has been some big news pertaining to our sport, so podcast hosts Brian Rauf and Connor Hope are back to give their insight and opinions on what could be some game-changing topics.

The first is the brand new G League Select Team, an initiative brought on by the NBA that allows some of the top athletes to bypass college and play… and get paid, as professionals. Four high school stars have signed on, including Jalen Green, international big man Kai Sotto, former UCLA commit Dashien Nix and Michigan commit Isaiah Todd. Others have been linked and offered but for now, these are the four heading to the G League.

So how do both Brian and Connor feel about this? How big of an impact will this be for college basketball? There’s a lot to take away from this so find out what their opinions of the G League are. But there is also another new rule that could have an even bigger impact on the sport.

Transfers have been a huge source of conversation in NCAA Basketball, with everyone having their own respective opinion. Those talks have only increased, with the NCAA prepared to support a “one-time” waiver rule for players to be able to transfer without having to sit out a season. It was originally set to pass for this offseason’s group of players but has since been delayed. So expect it to come into play for next offseason, which will have a major impact on how coaches and players operate.

Brian and Connor give their shared viewpoints on the topic and how they feel about players being able to move around freely. They also discuss the NBA Draft early entrants, as well as the teams and players to keep an eye on this upcoming month.
