Seton Hall Basketball went 21-9 last season and shared the Big East regular-season title. What are some key storylines in the offseason?

For many Seton Hall Basketball fans, the 2019-20 season was the one where the Pirates broke through. For this first time, they would get to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament under Kevin Willard. After starting the season slowly at 6-4, the Pirates rattled off a 10 game winning streak and stayed in the Top 25 for a majority of the season.

Alas, the NCAA Tournament was canceled and the trio of star seniors, First Team All American Myles Powell, Big East Defensive Player of the Year Romaro Gill and guard Quincy McKnight, will never get their last chance to take the Pirates deep into the postseason. But not all hope is lost for the Pirates, Willard and his coaching staff have been working hard behind the scenes to help keep Seton Hall’s NCAA tournament appearance streak going.

While Seton Hall has not added any 5-star recruits, there are plenty of other avenues to add talent, like sit-out transfers, grad transfers (which we get to in a minute) and developing 3-star and 4-star recruits like they did with Desi Rodriguez and Angel Delgado in the past.

The Pirates have prided themselves on hard work and player development, just look at Gill who was playing junior college basketball in Indiana 2 years ago. Seton Hall will have no shortage of opportunities with a tough Big East slate moving up to 20 games, the Big 12-Big East Challenge versus Baylor and the annual Garden State Hardwood Classic against Rutgers. So, let’s see three of the leading storylines for the Pirates for the 2020-21 season.
