With Khristian Lander reclassifying, Indiana Basketball’s 2020 recruiting class is seemingly now complete. How will these new Hoosiers make an impact?

Indiana basketball is one of the nation’s most well-known programs. While the Hoosiers have not exhibited a ton of recent success on the hardwood, there is no point in denying their tremendous history. The future of the program is also starting to look brighter and brighter by the day.

The Hoosiers put together a solid 2019-20 season that likely would have ended in an NCAA Tournament appearance (prior to its cancelation) and expectations are high for this coming campaign. The return of sophomore big man Trayce Jackson-Davis is at the core of this excitement but several other key contributors will be making their ways back to Bloomington as well.

This includes the likes of Justin Smith (currently testing the NBA Draft waters), Al Durham, Joey Brunk, and Rob Phinisee, all of whom will be experienced upperclassmen capable of playing big minutes. Each of them played ~20+ minutes per game last season and have unfinished business.

Additionally, though, head coach Archie Miller has some tremendous reinforcements joining the mix as well in the form of an elite 2020 recruiting class ranked at No. 13 in the nation. This group includes four Top 150 commits, including a five-star point guard joining the mix.

Considering three of these commits (Galloway, Leal, and Lander) all played together for Indiana Elite on the AAU circuit last summer, there is plenty of familiarity within the group. That should help their chemistry on the court right away with the Hoosiers. With their careers starting in the near future, let’s take a dive into each of IU’s four incoming commits.
