Jonathan Kuminga is the top prospect in the 2021 NCAA Basketball Recruiting class, and he released his top 5 on Friday. Here’s what each option offers.

The top-ranked prospect in the 2021 NCAA Basketball Recruiting class, Jonathan Kuminga, announced his final five options on Friday afternoon.

A 6-8, 205-pound wing from Congo, Kuminga has a special mix of skill and athleticism that would’ve made him a top prospect in the 2020 class if he chose to reclassify. As is, he’s the clear top prospect in the 2021 class and the heavy favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

He’s extremely quick and athletic which, at 6-8, gives him elite upside as a slasher and rebounder, and it has really made him an elite defender as well. The biggest hole in his game is his outside shooting, but he’s improving in that area.

With such clear superstar potential, it’s no surprise to see him considering professional options along with elite college programs – though the programs that made the cut aren’t all ones normally in the mix for one-and-done prospects.

So, what do the new bloods, blue bloods, and G League each bring to the table for Kuminga? Let’s analyze his top five options.
