Langston Love is on the verge of being a five-star NCAA Basketball prospect. Which programs are in the running to land the guard?

The lack of offseason Live Periods and AAU Basketball tournaments and campaigns are very problematic for both NCAA Basketball prospects and coaches. Players are being deprived of having breakout sessions to boost their respective stocks and rankings and being able to move up in everyone’s eyes. That includes shooting guard recruit Langston Love, a star at the prestigious Montverde Academy in Florida.

Originally from Cibolo, Texas, Love is one of the best shooting guards in the 2021 recruiting class. The 6’4 guard can score at all three levels and has good range to shoot from deep. He also has the ability to defend at a high level and has a high floor overall, potentially a double-digit performer as a freshman for whichever NCAA Basketball program he chooses.

According to 247sportsComposite, Love is ranked in the top-30 overall and just outside of achieving a “five-star” ranking status. With a big high school senior campaign, he’ll get there, giving one of 11 current contenders a major asset for the 2021-22 season.

For this piece, I’ll be taking a look at each potential situation for Love, surveying the ones that may be the best fit for the top-tier shooting guard.

Arkansas Razorbacks

Despite inheriting them after coming over from Nevada, Eric Musselman did wonders for guards Mason Jones (22.4 ppg) and Isaiah Joe (16.9 ppg) this past season. Jones is staying in the NBA Draft, while Joe is still making his own decision. He’ll likely be gone after next year, leaving Desi Sills, sit-out transfer JD Notae, and incoming top-50 guard Moses Moody on the roster.

Between the high-octane offense the Razorbacks run and the fact that they use plenty of three-guard offenses, Love could find himself a major role with the team. But it’s hard to know where the program truly stands with him, as the Hogs have been reported finalists for literally every transfer this offseason and so far, many top prospects in the region. This may be a case where they make another list but miss out on the target.
