Mac McClung announced his top seven NCAA Basketball schools this past week, here’s a breakdown of the teams he’s still considering.

Arkansas, Auburn, BYU, Memphis, Texas Tech, USC, and Wake Forest made the cut for Georgetown transfer Mac McClung. McClung announced he would be transferring from Georgetown after testing the NBA Draft waters and returning to NCAA Basketball.

McClung is an athletic 6’2 guard and had a host of programs reach out to him when he entered the transfer portal. He was a three-star prospect out of high school but has built himself a brand on social media with his viral hoops mixtapes and explosive dunks.

McClung averaged 14.2 points 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 50 appearances for Georgetown over the course of two seasons. McClung spent a chunk of this last season battling a foot injury and only appeared in one game in February.

There have been a number of NBA players including Donovan Mitchell and Ja Morant who have tweeted at McClung trying to persuade him to a certain school, even NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes put a good word in for Texas Tech.

McClung is likely a sit one play two transfer unless he gets a waiver from the NCAA. He’s likely the best player left in the portal right now so it should be no surprise that there were many elite programs that reached out.

Here’s a breakdown of the seven schools that Mac McClung is still considering and what he can bring to the table for each of them.
