Who are the most accomplished head coaches in CAA Basketball so far this century?
While the league has been greatly impacted by realignment in recent years, CAA Basketball remains one of college basketball’s exciting mid-majors. Thanks to a couple of Cinderella runs, there has been plenty of attention on the league in recent years. There are some high-quality basketball programs still remaining in the conference, with exciting basketball expected on a yearly basis.
Even though these are mid-major programs, some of them have still been led by some incredible coaches in recent memory. Bringing top talent into the CAA is a difficult task, as is coaching available talent in a successful team. The coaches who can accomplish these feats are the ones we remember. Many coaches come and go from the CAA, some who struggle and some who leave behind indelible legacies.
We’ll be taking a closer look at the ten greatest head coaches in the CAA since 2000. We aren’t looking at any specific criteria to make this ranking, though many factors will be utilized. A few head coaches really stand out, while we’ll be looking closely at postseason success and how a program fared compared to a previous or future head coach’s success. Even in the CAA, there’s plenty of intrigue with these programs, and a few of the country’s most exciting coaches have come through this league in recent memory.
